British Lions Believe

In the den of the Lions, they have selected the best:
On the line put their body once more.
The pride to be playing, the honour the crest,
Committment the key at the core!

Phase after phase they will tackle and fell,
But they know and they never give up;
Respect for the All Blacks, but keep them repelled,
It's time to make their own luck!

With true Lions grit, they're here and inspired,
Discipline is their focus within,
Take deep breath in, be stoked and be fired;
Integrity will mean they can win!

They are Lions, when all's said and done,
From the fern they have taken a leaf.
They have pride, they have passion, they're're #AllForOne
Mixed in with a lot of belief!

Look in the mirror, look in the eyes of their mates,
Together this team can achieve;
That glint in the eye, from British Lion greats:
We have faith in you all, we believe!

Lions 2017

This is your Everest,
Very few people reach for the top!
British Isles, its very best,
Combined with Ireland's, cream of the crop.
As one team is brought together,
Chance of greatness that lasts forever.

As age takes hold, and takes its toll;
Remember, memories however long.
The look, in the eye, into deepest soul,
The Lions, the passion burning strong.
The badge, the jersey, you honoured few,
Take the chance, that's presented to you!

Six Nations done

Six Nations done and dusted
England's unbeaten run was busted
Ireland were the better side
St Patrick's weekend played with pride
Plaster of Paris is the scrum to be set
Is France v Wales game over yet?
Scotland defeat the boot of Italy
Think they forgot their kicking ones literally
All these games of such fine margin
Big forwards going all a charging
Line speed of defensive plays
Under the Match Officials gaze
But for all teams so full of praise
Best Six Nations in many ways
Now we'll all look to the worthy
To see those chosen for Lions Jersey
Prepare for trip down South in June
Take on World's best can't come too soon
Get New Zealand on the run
Four Nations together #AllforOne

Ireland v England - Finisher

The Guiness pours, settles scores.
Smooth, sleek and black,
Cream of champions back to back?
Out of shadows of the All Black's!
Team taken failure on the chin,
Willingness through thick and thin;
Responded, grafted, to drawing board,
Confidence nurtured, not over awed.
Built together, as one team,
Hard yards covered, will brings nineteen!
Pressure mounts. Oh, up it ramps!
But shared by all of those in camp.
Responsibility for one and all,
Reacted to the English call.
Ready to play, to take the stage
England XV to come of age!
Lancaster start, brought this team through.
Jones the finisher: knows what to do!

Changing Room Dublin

As you sit upon the changing bench, gathering your thoughts,
Staring at the concrete floor, focusing on nought.
This is just another game, but greatness comes of age,
Take your chance, to write your name, on this historic page.
Prepared for peak performance, mentally you bet,
Ready for Irish challenge, crouch, mind, set!

Your feet are gently tapping, no nerves would be untrue,
But the sound of studs on concrete floor what does it mean to you?
The first game that you ever played, to the pinnacle you have reached.
Everything you've given, from the lessons you were preached!
This is your time get ready, enjoy the Irish craic
Seize the chance of victory with Grand Slams back to back!

Tight bonding in the changing room, just one last final squeeze,
As you step out of the changing room to Dublin’s city breeze.
The sound of studs now echoes, as you walk out one by one,
But you know you are together as you stride in union,
To the singing of Sweet Chariots, the pride of English Rose
Come on England's finest. Let's #carrythemhome!

Ireland v England

To Dublin for the final words
Unbroken run can be overheard
Cardiff wounds to be licked and healed
As Schmidt demands a defence of steel
Bears resemblance of Chicago game
The chance to end an unbeaten reign
Players focused but some Bowed out
Shoulder to shoulder strength of Irish stout

One more victory will be enough
To overcome this All Black stuff
Humbled by St Patrick's Day craic
Will England crack or finish back to back
This is the day of English reckoning
Chance for greatness is Eddie's beckoning
Commitment emotion no resting on laurels
Grand Slam game is the final quarrel!

ENGLAND V SCOTLAND

From first tip tackle that sank Skye boat,
To amazing Joseph with his dream coat!
English scythe cut Calcutta cup,
Poor old Scotland once on the up,
Pretenders came in search of crown
But left with heads low bowed down.
Much soul searching for the Scottish slain,
To the training ground to think again!

England stutterers, from ugly ducklings;
Flourished with powerful brand of rugby.
The prickly thorns of English Rose,
Transformed to nymphs with twinkle toes,
Combined the power: a revolution,
Came together for Scots execution.
On to next week, Championship in hands
To Dublin with thoughts of retained Grand Slam!

England v Scotland Chance Card

Wales and Ireland scalps,
Packed in their sporran kilts;
Head and shoulders above past form,
Battled hard in France, left torn
Ligaments of Laidlaw morn!
With Triple Crown hope still in tact,
Calcutta cup could be well scrapped.
Victory as you go south of the borders,
Defy auld enemy and Jones' orders.
A raid, a smash and grab,
Hogg will their collars nab.
Be Procurator Fiscals
Fight might and power with fistfuls
Of Scottish pride and Bruce's tale!
Ensure there's no escape from jail.
No parole, amnesty, for good behaviour
The Saltires fly, ye Scottish saviours!

Lesson learned, exception overcome;
Da Vinci code broken, ruck undone!
But worked it out, and fought back well
To stay on course, let us not dwell.
But focus on the game in hand:
The Scottish, take them with our brand,
Of power and pace and speed of thought,
Remember last lesson that we were taught?
React, refocus, regroup, respond
It doesn't need a magic wand!
Beware pretenders to the Crown,
Prepared repel this baying crowd;
Marauding Scots with tails up high
Seventeen wins! The next we cry!
Simple game plan, execute hard,
Its time to play, turn your chance card!
